Carpal Tunnel

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a nerve disorder that can greatly interfere with the use of your hands; causing tingling, numbness, burning or even pain. The carpal tunnel is a narrow passageway of ligament and bones located at the base of the hand. The carpal tunnel houses the median nerve and tendons. Thickening from irritated tendons can narrow the carpal tunnel and cause the median nerve to be compressed. You may even feel shooting pain in your forearms or wrists causing your grip to weaken because the median nerve has become pressed or squeezed.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome can be caused by the normal wear and tear of everyday hand movements; such has typing or working with tools. Carpal Tunnel can also be cause by wrist injuries, arthritis, and fluid retention, as well as injuries to the neck. Neck injuries can cause the median nerve to swell and press against the carpal tunnel.

Working with a Chiropractor can help ease pain from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. A Chiropractor can make sure that your spinal column is free from abnormal biomechanics. The chiropractic approach provides natural, safe, effective and quick relief to people suffering with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
